The Throwback is run by Daniel Punch, a freelance journalist based in Ontario, Canada.
Punch grew up in Sarnia — a small, industrial city in southwestern Ontario. Always an avid sports fan, he soon found writing to be another of his passions. This led him through internships at daily newspapers, magazines, and most recently, through the Master of Arts in Journalism program at The University of Western Ontario.
He’s written articles about all different topics, but always relishes a chance to write about sports. And perhaps it was watching Ken Burns’ nine-part Baseball documentary as a 10-year-old kid, but Punch has always had an appreciation for the history of sports. The Throwback was the next logical step.
